Livewire

I was watching the first season of Superman: The Animated Series last night when the episode "Livewire" came on. In addition to being one of my favorite Mötley Crüe songs, I thought the visuals of the character were pretty cool. The Bruce Timm style works better for her than my more realistic style here but I'm pleased with the results nonetheless. I've been trying to get more precise in my inking lines as well.

This Weekend

Here's what happens when Jen goes out of town for the weekend:

This weekend was the first time I'd ever listened to any J.J. Cale albums - man, he wrote every single Clapton solo career hit except Wonderful Tonight. He even did "Travelin' Light," which is the best song of Clapton's Reptile album. Crazy.

Eating Out: A New Hayley Adventure

Jen has been after me for a while to do a new Hayley story for her. I figured I'd share it with everyone.

There's not really a story to speak of and my experiments with word balloon placement didn't come off successfully but overall I'm happy with the finished product. It's a start anyway.

Want to see it? Click HERE.

(Hopefully this MediaFire download site works for everyone, I've never used it before. Just click on the link and it'll take you to the download site. Give it a second and you should see a large button that says "Click here to start download." Click it and the .pdf file should download. You'll need Adobe or another image program that can read .pdf files.)

Mr Moto in 30 Minutes or Less, Part II

Sorry for the lack of updates this week - I've been devouring Hogarth's Dynamic Figure Drawing and trying to incorporate some of his techniques into my existing style (such as it is). It's pretty much a mess now but I'm getting it sorted out.

In lieu of any tights and capes, here's page 3 of my Mr. Moto project. I haven't been working much on this because, ironically, it did exactly what it was supposed to: get me working on something to start momentum, which I could (and did) carry on to other more worthwhile projects.

That other project is a 12 page Hayley story which I should finish inking up this weekend. Look for it next week!
