Back from Christmas break, visiting Jen's family in Wisconsin.

Not a ton of sketching this trip, but here's what I got in:

Where were her parents? Why, right across the aisle, admiring her form. Yeesh. I made the best of it though - and when she kicked in time the extra bump added some oomph to the awesomeness of the mix.

If there is a kid in the room and you are an artist, the parents get a mini vacation. With so much amazing artwork posted online everyday it's nice to have an audience that's delighted with even the worst offenses against proportion and perspective.

Jen's big wish was to watch the Disney Christmas Parade on TV Christmas morning. After about five minutes of watching it with me I think she was ready to change the channel to something I wouldn't watch, like the surprising number of horror films being shown all week.

Christmas 2007: The year I cleaned up on Tintin books. Reading them now and enjoying every last panel.

Jen has some old family friends who let me come over every year and play with their three Corgis. We went over Christmas Day because really nothing says Christmas like Corgis. Best dogs ever.

A day long snowfall caused delays flying out of Wisconsin for our trip home, troubles which were compounded by the fact I caught what Jen demeaningly diagnosed as "the sniffles." I decided I needed to be inflicted with something more manly and declared I had "a severe case of influenza, hypothermia, and probably typhoid fever." She remained unmoved.

The flight home was miserable - it was late leaving, the seats were more cramped than normal, and we were back by the engine where it was LOUD. I managed to distract myself effectively by doing the above sketch.
Now we're back in Florida, I'm over my bout with influenza, hypothermia and probably typhoid fever (tropical diseases apparently clear up quite quickly), and ready to start a new year of posts here at Kitty Cat Jet Pack. So here we go ...
