Mathematically Improbable
Those cool looking (to me at least) bands across the background is actually text which reads "it's not mathematically impossible, just mathematically improbable" which, through good fortune, I accidentally mistyped the lead to almost completely overlap each line. I liked it so I left it as is.

President's Day
Happy President's Day. If I had been thinking topical, I would have done George Washington (as point of fact I'm currently reading His Excellency: George Washington by Joseph Ellis), but outside of being off from work today I wasn't paying attention to the calendar.
So here's a non-presidential piece on an otherwise presidential day.

TBCC February 2008
Last night was the monthly Tampa Bay Cartoonist Collective sketchorama hootenanny thingie. I've been so busy this is the first time I was able to stop by in the last couple months. Here's a sketch I did right before Border's kicked us out to close the store - I added a little color to it this morning.

Two Quick Ones
Two quick ones, without comment other than I like the first one a hell of a lot. I played with the opacity settings to get a nice watercolor feel. Expect more of the same for a while ...

Jersey Girl
Playing with making my own backgrounds and textures. For this one I took a standard sheet of printer paper, stained it with a used tea bag, and slightly crinkled it up. I'm quite happy with the result.

Punk Girl Friday: Choose
One day late again but next week's Illustration Friday theme caught my eye.
The theme is "choose," which made me think of the primary contests going on right now. Everyone vote - it's a big year for both sides of the aisle.
Don't let anyone tell you voting is lame - being punk is all about making sure your voice is heard. This year it's all about the mavericks taking on the establishment, and, man, nothing is more punk than that.
